2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

The 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was the eighth season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a T20 cricket tournament organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Held from January 2 to January 31, 2016, the tournament featured 27 teams representing various Indian states and cricket associations, divided into five groups. The format included a round-robin stage followed by knockout matches leading to the final. Assam emerged as the champion, claiming their first title by defeating the five-time champions, Karnataka, in the final held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
