1986 Asia Cup

The 1986 Asia Cup was the third edition of the Asia Cup, a limited-overs cricket tournament held in Sri Lanka from June 27 to July 6, 1986. This tournament featured four participating teams: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The host nation, Sri Lanka, was the first to participate in the Asia Cup format, which was established to promote competitive cricket among Asian countries. India emerged as the champions, claiming their second successive title after defeating Pakistan in the final by 7 runs at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The tournament included a round-robin format, followed by the knockout stage, culminating in a highly anticipated final that underscored the fierce rivalry between India and Pakistan.
