15th Lancers

The 15th Lancers was a cavalry regiment of the British Army, originally raised in 1759. Distinguished by its role in various military campaigns, the regiment played a significant part in the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimean War, and both World Wars. Initially formed as a light cavalry unit, the 15th Lancers was later restructured into a medium cavalry regiment, incorporating modern tactics and equipment. Notable for its iconic uniforms and ceremonial duties, the regiment was based in several locations throughout its history, including India and the UK. The 15th Lancers was ultimately amalgamated into the Royal Armoured Corps in 1922, marking the end of its distinct identity while continuing its legacy within the British Army.
