14th Lok Sabha

The 14th Lok Sabha of India was constituted following the general elections held in April–May 2004. It served as the lower house of India's Parliament from May 2004 until May 2009 and comprised a total of 543 elected members. The Lok Sabha was formed under the provisions of the Constitution of India, with members representing various states and union territories. The 14th Lok Sabha was notable for the formation of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), led by the Indian National Congress, which came to power, with Dr. Manmohan Singh serving as Prime Minister. The Lok Sabha's tenure witnessed significant legislative initiatives, including the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and the Right to Information Act, addressing critical social issues.
