13th Indian Cavalry Brigade

The 13th Indian Cavalry Brigade was a key formation of the British Indian Army during the early 20th century, primarily active through World War II. Established in 1940, the brigade was part of the 4th Indian Division and played a significant role in various campaigns in the Middle East, including the Western Desert during the North African Campaign. The brigade was composed of cavalry regiments that utilized mechanized warfare techniques, adapting traditional cavalry roles to modern combat. Notable for its involvement in significant battles such as the Second Battle of El Alamein, the 13th Indian Cavalry Brigade was instrumental in the Allied efforts to counter Axis forces. It was eventually disbanded after the war in 1947, following India's independence.
