10th Lok Sabha

The Tenth Lok Sabha of India was constituted following the general elections held in November–December 1995. Comprising 545 members, the house convened for its first session on December 14, 1995, and functioned until April 22, 1996. This Lok Sabha was notable for the political turbulence of the mid-1990s, featuring a coalition government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, albeit for a brief duration. The 10th Lok Sabha witnessed significant legislative activity, including discussions on economic reforms and social issues, amidst regional and national challenges. Its proceedings were marked by the evolving dynamics of Indian political parties and increased influence of coalition politics.
