107th (Bengal Infantry) Regiment of Foot

The 107th (Bengal Infantry) Regiment of Foot was a distinguished infantry regiment of the British Indian Army, originally raised in 1765. Initially formed as the 19th Bengal Native Infantry, the regiment played a pivotal role in various military operations throughout British India, particularly during the Indian Rebellion of 1857, where it demonstrated notable valor. In 1881, the regiment was restructured and re-designated as the 107th (Bengal Infantry) Regiment of Foot, reflecting its service and historical significance. It was primarily based in the Bengal Presidency and participated in campaigns in regions such as the Northwest Frontier and in the Second Anglo-Afghan War.
