102nd Prince of Wales's Own Grenadiers

The 102nd Prince of Wales's Own Grenadiers was a distinguished infantry regiment of the British Indian Army, established in the late 19th century. Originating in 1857 during the Indian Rebellion, it was formed from a composite of various sepoy units, gaining its affixation to the Prince of Wales in recognition of its service. Renowned for its valor in numerous campaigns, including engagements in the Second Anglo-Afghan War and World War I, the regiment played a critical role in maintaining British colonial interests in India. It was primarily based in Northern India and acquired a reputation for its exceptional rifle marksmanship and discipline. The regiment was officially amalgamated into the Indian Army post-independence in 1947.
