100th Battalion (Winnipeg Grenadiers), CEF

The 100th Battalion (Winnipeg Grenadiers), Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF), was a regiment raised during World War I, primarily composed of volunteers from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Formed in late 1915, the battalion was part of Canada’s effort to support the Allied powers in various theaters of war. Following its deployment, the 100th Battalion served in India, where it was tasked with garrison duties and civil administration amidst rising tensions in the region. The unit’s presence contributed to the British military's strategy to secure provincial stability during the tumultuous years of the war. After the conflict, the battalion was demobilized in 1919, and its legacy endures through the continued service of its successors in the Canadian Armed Forces.
