2017 Premier Badminton League

The 2017 Premier Badminton League (PBL) was the second season of the professional badminton league established in India, aimed at promoting the sport and enhancing its popularity across the nation. Conducted from January 1 to January 14, 2017, the league featured six franchises: Mumbai Rockets, Delhi Daredevils, Chennai Smashers, Bengaluru Blasters, Hyderabad Hunters, and Kolkata Badminton Team. The tournament was structured in a round-robin format followed by playoffs, culminating in the final match held in Bengaluru. The Chennai Smashers emerged as the champions, defeating the Hyderabad Hunters in the final. The event showcased numerous top badminton players, including both Indian and international stars, significantly elevating the profile of badminton in India.
