2016 Bordoloi Trophy

The 2016 Bordoloi Trophy was the 61st edition of the prestigious invitational football tournament held in Assam, India. Organised by the Assam Football Association, the tournament took place from December 1 to December 15, 2016, featuring some of the leading clubs from across India. The competition aimed to promote football in the northeastern region of India while showcasing emerging talents. This year, the tournament adopted a league format, followed by knockout stages, culminating in the final match. The trophy honored the legacy of Bhogeswar Bordoloi, a prominent figure in Assamese football. Renowned teams such as the Assam Rifles and Mohammedan SC participated, adding competitive spirit to the event.
