2015 Hockey India League

The 2015 Hockey India League (HIL) was the third edition of India's premier professional field hockey tournament, organized by Hockey India. Commencing on January 24 and concluding on February 22, 2015, the tournament featured five franchises: Delhi Waveriders, Jaypee Punjab Warriors, Ranchi Rays, Kalinga Lancers, and Uttar Pradesh Wizards. The league aimed to promote the sport in India and improve its global standing. Each team was composed of both national and international players, showcasing hockey talent from around the world. The tournament format included a round-robin stage followed by playoffs, with the Jaypee Punjab Warriors ultimately winning the championship. The league contributed significantly to the popularization of hockey in India, attracting substantial viewership and sponsorship.
