2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election

The 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election was held in five phases from October 12 to November 5, 2015, to elect the 243 members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. This crucial electoral contest in India was characterized by a significant rivalry between the Grand Alliance, comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)), and Indian National Congress, against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The election garnered widespread attention due to key issues such as social justice, development, and the political legacy of prominent leaders. Ultimately, the Grand Alliance emerged victorious, securing 178 seats, while the NDA won 58 seats, marking a significant political shift in the state.
