2013 Indian Badminton League

The 2013 Indian Badminton League (IBL) was the inaugural season of a professional badminton league in India, launched to popularize the sport and elevate its profile nationally. Organized by the Badminton Association of India, the league featured six franchise-based teams representing different cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. The tournament took place from August 14 to August 31, 2013, and showcased a format that included men's and women's singles, as well as doubles events. International badminton stars participated alongside Indian players, enhancing the league's appeal. The Chennai Smashers emerged as the champions, securing the title in a final against the Mumbai Masters.
