2004 Asia Cup

The 2004 Asia Cup was the 12th edition of the Asia Cup, a prestigious cricket tournament organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Held from July 30 to August 21, 2004, in Sri Lanka, the tournament featured five competing teams: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong. India, led by captain Sourav Ganguly, emerged as the tournament champion, successfully clinching the title for the fifth time in history. The format consisted of a round-robin group stage followed by a knockout phase, culminating in the final match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Notably, India's key performances included securing victories over traditional rivals Pakistan and Sri Lanka, underscoring their dominance in the region's cricket landscape at the time.
