2002 ICC Champions Trophy

The 2002 ICC Champions Trophy was the fourth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, held in England from September 24 to October 1, 2002. This ODI tournament featured eight international cricket teams, including India, Australia, England, and the West Indies, competing for the coveted trophy. The tournament was notable for its unique format, where teams were divided into two groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals. India had a remarkable run, reaching the final alongside England. The final, held at The Oval, ended in a controversial no-result due to rain, leading to a shared championship title. This marked India's first significant triumph in ICC events since the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
