129th Duke of Connaught's Own Baluchis

The 129th Duke of Connaught’s Own Baluchis, also known as the 129th Baluchis, was an infantry regiment of the British Indian Army formed in 1922. With its roots tracing back to the early 19th century, the regiment played a significant role in the military operations across the Indian subcontinent. The Baluchis were named after the traditional Baluchi people of southwestern Asia and were originally known for their distinctive combat skills and loyalty. The regiment saw action in both World Wars, participating in notable campaigns in East Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Following India's independence in 1947, the regiment was allocated to the newly formed Pakistan Army, marking the end of its service within the British Indian military framework.
