100th Indian Infantry Brigade

The 100th Indian Infantry Brigade is a formation of the Indian Army, established during the Second World War and known for its pivotal role in the Indian theatre of operations. Formed in 1944, the brigade was part of the British Indian Army's efforts to bolster troop strength in the face of Japanese advances in Southeast Asia. Comprised predominantly of Indian soldiers, it was tasked with various operational roles, including counter-insurgency operations and conventional warfare. The brigade played a significant role in notable campaigns, contributing to the broader Allied efforts in the region. Following Indian independence in 1947, the brigade transitioned to serve in various capacities within the integrated Indian Armed Forces, upholding the country’s defense commitments.
