12th Tripura Assembly
The 12th Tripura Assembly is the legislative body of the Indian state of Tripura, constituted following the assembly elections held in February 2018. Comprising 60 members elected through a first-past-the-post system, the assembly plays a crucial role in the governance of the state. The ruling party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), formed a coalition government with the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) after securing a significant majority. The assembly's sessions are held at the Assembly House in Agartala, the state capital, where various legislative activities, including the passage of bills and budget approvals, occur. The current Speaker, elected to oversee the proceedings, ensures adherence to parliamentary procedures. The 12th assembly's term is pivotal in shaping Tripura's political landscape and development initiatives.
