The 2016 Uri attack was a significant militant assault that occurred on September 18, 2016, at an Indian Army base in Uri, located in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Four heavily armed militants, linked to the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, infiltrated the base during the early morning hours, resulting in the deaths of 19 Indian soldiers and injuries to over 30 others.
