2008 Mumbai attacks

The 2008 Mumbai attacks, also known as 26/11, were a series of coordinated terrorist assaults that occurred in Mumbai, India, from November 26 to November 29, 2008. Orchestrated by the Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, the attacks targeted multiple high-profile locations, including the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, the Oberoi Trident Hotel, the CST railway station, and the Leopold Cafe. The attackers employed firearms and explosives, leading to the deaths of 166 individuals, including 18 foreign nationals, and injuring over 300 others. The events prompted widespread condemnation both domestically and internationally, leading to significant changes in Indian counterterrorism laws and heightened security measures. The attacks remain a pivotal moment in India-Pakistan relations and global counterterrorism discussions.
